What Are The Alternative to Breast Implants?
If you are not 100% committed to the idea of breast implants but are longing for breast enhancement, then there are a couple of other options currently available. These options are not commercially popular yet, but they are worth considering when researching your breast enhancement choices.
Fat Grafting
Fat grafting is a breast enhancement procedure that incorporates the relocating of fat from one area of your body to your breasts. During this procedure, your surgeon will employ liposuction to obtain fat from an agreed area of your body, often the thighs or abdominal area. The fat collected will then be injected into your breast in a precise way that will go to create a fuller appearance.
There are a number of situations that can call for fat grafting. These include:
- Making your breasts look more attractive after undergoing breast cancer surgery.
- Correcting any imperfections that may have resulted from a breast augmentation procedure.
- Correcting an inherited deformity that has affected your breast(s).
Currently, it is not exactly known what the long-term results of fat grafting are; however, it is known that the extent of breast enhancement that can be achieved from fat grafting is restricted. As a result of these two point, the fat grafting procedure has yet to become common practice and is still deemed as "experimental" by most licensed cosmetic surgeons.
Breast Auto Augmentation
During a breast auto augmentation procedure, your surgeon will enhance the appearance of you breasts using your own body tissue. This particular cosmetic procedure is frequently complemented with a breast lift to make your breasts appear more perky and youthful.
The breast auto augmentation procedure involves your surgeon selecting breast tissue from the lower, larger part of your breast. They will then manoeuvre this tissue into a position that will create more volume in the upper breast. Once this has been completed, your surgeon will then work to relocate the nipple and areola (dark area of skin surrounding the nipple) to a higher place to suit the new, uplifted breast. To close the surgery, your surgeon will then remove any excess skin and insert stitches were necessary.
This rather innovative procedure is rather appealing to some women as it allows for a more enhanced breast appearance, while the breast still only contains natural body tissue.
