Bacterial Causes of Obesity
Just recently, research findings have been published which state that bacteria in the stomach may be responsible for obesity. These bacteria are responsible for breaking down food in the stomach which helps it to be digested better. As this food is broken down it releases energy which affects the speed at which it is broken down. This energy is stored as fat until it is needed.
However, a team of scientists has found that some people have a different type of bacteria in their stomach. What then appears to happen is that too much energy is released which then triggers an excess of fat. This pattern is repeated time and time again which then leads to weight gain and eventually, obesity.
More research is planned which may help experts to better understand why some people are more prone to weight gain than others.
