6-Month Smiles Treatment | Dental Treatment Guide
Only the teeth that are shown when a person smiles are treated with this procedure. By limiting the number of teeth that are treated this cuts down on the cost and time period but does not reduce the overall effect. The treatment comprises of 4 parts which all work to improve the appearance and straightness of the teeth with minimal discomfort and maximum discretion.
- Consultation
Your dentist will conduct a thorough examination of your teeth to assess whether you need orthodontic treatment. Depending on the condition of your teeth your dentist might recommend the 6 month smile treatment as a suitable procedure to enhance their appearance. It may be that you require more extensive orthodontic treatment. - Extraction
In a small number of cases it may be necessary to remove some teeth before having the treatment. This is more likely to be necessary if the appearance of your teeth requires more work. It may sound extreme but this can be performed safely and without major discomfort and should help to drastically improve your dental appearance. However, the dentist will discuss this matter of extraction with you in detail during the consultation. - Fitting
In order to help with the alignment of the teeth retainers that resemble the appearance of your teeth are fitted to help straighten them over a period of around 6 months. Ordinary braces tend to be worn on average for 2-3 years and tend to be more visible. - Final
There is a tendency for teeth to revert to their original positions after orthodontic treatment so at the end of the procedure the dentist will fit permanent braces to the teeth to prevent this from happening. This means that you are to continue to enjoy the new appearance of your teeth and the time and money you have put into the treatment has not been wasted.
