How Much Does Dental Sedation Cost? | Dental Treatment Guide
As with other services, the cost of dental sedation can vary depending upon where you have it done. Additionally, there are variations in cost between different types of sedation. Intravenous sedation is often more expensive than inhaled or oral sedation. For example, oral sedation can be twice as expensive as inhalation sedation, and intravenous (often abbreviated to I.V.) sedation can be five times as expensive as inhalation sedation (double the cost of oral sedation). However, this is only a rough guideline.
Specific costs will vary but can be around £50 for inhalation sedation, £100 for oral sedation and £250 for I.V. sedation. Specific dental clinics or hospitals will set their price according to the quality of the service which they believe they provide, by their own standards and in comparison with other dental practises. Generally, you can expect a higher quality of service for a higher fee, but this is not always the case. Some practises may not have different prices for different methods of sedation, or they may not as large or small variations as above.
