Lingual Braces Care | Dental Treatment Guide
While you are wearing a brace, it is important that you care for it in accordance with the instructions from your dentist. Looking after your brace properly ensures that it functions correctly and moves your teeth effectively. Not taking care of your brace can mean you are merely extending the amount of time that you need to wear it – or even worse, actually damaging your teeth.
Because Lingual Braces are attached to the back of your teeth, food easily become trapped there. Your dentist will probably recommend regular visits to the Hygienist and the use of a fluoride mouthwash. Your dentist may also be able to recommend a different brushing techniqe which helps to clear the food away from around your brace. You will soon learn which foods are easier to eat and which are more difficult. You will probably find it is worthwhile brushing your teeth after every meal.
